FLAT BRANCH IS A PLACE WHERE YOU WILL BE LOVED AND CAN GROW IN CHRIST!
Flat Branch is an active church that was established in 1873, and is experiencing new growth today. We represent the Presybterian branch of the Protestant tradition, which emphasizes the authority of the Bible in all matters of faith and practice, God's sovereign love and control of our lives, and leadership in the congregation is performed by elected presbyters, or elders. Salvation comes to us through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Our original frame church was built in the late 1870's, and was replaced by the current sanctuary in 1965. The Felllowship Hall was added in the 1970's.
Flat Branch worships God in a traditional but laid-back style with some blended contemporary elements. Our members and friends cover all ages from babies up to over 90 years old. Most dress casually for worship, but a few like to dress more formally, especially in winter. We welcome all people and emphasize the unchanging nature of God's love in Jesus Christ.
Our church joyfully embraces traditional Christians values, stressing the sanctity of marriage and life as Christians have practiced it for 2,000 years, historic moral standards, and God's call for all of us to turn from our broken ways to follow the light and love of Jesus Christ.
In April of 2016, Flat Branch was officially dismissed to the new ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians from the Presbyterian Church (USA). At that time we changed our name from "Flat Branch Presbyterian" to "Flat Branch Covenent Presbyterian" to denote this historic change. ECO is the new and rapidly growing Presbyterian denomination that emphasizes biblical faithfulness and mission engagement, and moves away from the revisionist and progressive direction of the PC(USA) that has been in a steep decline for decades. This move has brought new joy to our congregation, as well as many new members, who are glad to be part of a biblically faithful church and denomination. For more information about the wonderful mission of ECO, check out their national website at www.Eco-Pres.org.
We are a simple local community church full of great people. We don't take ourselves too seriously, and love to have fun together, but we do take God's Word seriously. We are always learning new ways to grow and new ways to express our faith. We always strive to do great things for God as individuals and as a community. We are gracious with one another and support whoever is down and in need, especially if there is a family crisis or trauma. If you need a place where you will be accepted as you are, but challenged to be all Jesus wants you to be, then you are at the right place at Flat Branch.
Our doors and our hearts are open to you and those whom you hold dear. All we ask as that you seek to know Jesus and the abundant life He gives to all who follow Him in faith. We will be glad to help you connect with Jesus as your Savior if you aren't yet sure what Christian faith is all about. We love seekers, doubters, and broken folks who want something better in life! We've all been there at some point in our lives. We likewise ask for you to love us as we love you. Join us for worship. Join us for study. Join us for fellowship and service. Join us for life! Jesus Loves You And So Do We!
Genesis 42:38 (ESV)
But he said, "My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol."

We Are Home!
The Flat Branch community is pleased to announce that our Church is in the home stretch of return to our customary Spiritual Life and Social Engagement. Last Sunday, we came together for Sunday Service in our beautiful Sanctuary and we plan to continue worshipping there on Sundays. Congregants will continue to be asked to observe the rules of social distancing and use only those pews which are not roped off. In addition, at the conclusion of the Service, the Congregation will be asked to leave by rows to avoid a bottleneck at the Sanctuary doors. We are also asking that all Congregants wear masks while in the Sanctuary. By observing these few restrictions, we hope to keep everyone safe and healthy. Any members of the Congregation who do not feel comfortable about attending the Service in the Sanctuary are welcome to remain in their cars in the Church parking lot and listen to the Service on their car radios at 92.7 FM. We are privileged to welcome Rev. Meredith Riedel as our guest and minister for this week's Service. We look forward to seeing you all.
Printed Programs will be available in the Narthex as usual. A complete program is also available on the Sunday Bulletin (newly added) page of this website. You are welcome to copy and paste it into a document and print it for yourself or open it in your phone or other device so you will have it for the Service.
The Newsletter is available in the Narthex or you may read it online byBy going to the Newsletter Page on this website.
