   Prelude:  Take My Life and Let it Be

   Welcome and Announcements                                                                                           Chris Holmes

   Passing of the Peace

   Call to Worship  (based on Psalm 42)                                                                                Chris Holmes

   Leader:   As a deer longs for flowing streams, so we long for you, God

   People:  We thirst for the living God.

   Leader:    We remember how we entered the house of God, with joyful and thakful shouts.

   People:    We will yet, put our hope in God and will praise him, our Savior and our God.

   All:            Let us worship the Lord in spirit and in truth! Amen!

   *Hymn of Praise      #21     O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing

   *Prayer of Praise and Confession                                                                                      Rev. Hallead

    All:  God of compassion and mercy, we have turned from you by doing what we ought not do and by
   failing to do what we should.  We look at our country, at our community, and even our congregation and we
   do not see what we should see.  We long to be better, to be perfect, to be holy, though we tarry in our
  pursuit of righteousness.  Yet you are gracious and merciful.  Forgive us Lord as we confess our sin before
  you now in silence, in Jesus' name...(silent confession)
*Assurance of Pardon                                                                                                        Rev. Hallead

   *The Apostles' Creed                                                                                                                 "

         I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

          And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

          born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

         He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into

          heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall

          come to judge the quick and the dead.

          I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints;

          the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

   Pastoral Prayer and *Lord's Prayer                                                                                Rev. Hallead

  We Are Home!

The Flat Branch community is pleased to announce that our Church is in the home stretch of return to our customary Spiritual Life and Social Engagement. Last Sunday, we came together for Sunday Service in our beautiful Sanctuary and we plan to continue worshipping there on Sundays.  Congregants will continue to be asked to observe the rules of social distancing and use only those pews which are not roped off. In addition, at the conclusion of the Service, the Congregation will be asked to leave by rows to avoid a bottleneck at the Sanctuary doors.  We are also asking that all Congregants wear masks while in the Sanctuary.  By observing these few restrictions, we hope to keep everyone safe and healthy.  Any members of the Congregation who do not feel comfortable about attending the Service in the Sanctuary are welcome to remain in their cars in the Church parking lot and listen to the Service on their car radios at 92.7 FM. We are privileged to welcome Rev. Meredith Riedel as our guest and minister for this week's Service. We look forward to seeing you all.

Printed Programs will be available in the Narthex as usual.   A complete program is also available on the Sunday Bulletin (newly added) page of this website.  You are welcome to copy and paste it into a document and print it for yourself or open it in your phone or other device so you will have it for the Service.

Vacation Bible School

As a result of the current restrictions in North Carolina, Flat Branch has had to cancel its Vacation Bible School for this summer.  However, our Church's youngest members were still in our thoughts and prayers.  The church's teaching faculty has assembled age appropriate programs for each of the young people in our Congregation.  These bags of fun and religious education contain reading material, crafts, and thought-provoking conversation starters which are suitable for the whole family.  We wish everyone a great summer and look forward to seeing you soon!
